Ecosac Ltd., a family-owned business, was established in 2002.
Frazer and Sue Walker combined their collective experience in energy-from-waste, recycling and financing to focus on the perennial problem of dealing with surplus oil-based plastic packaging and specifically its role in green and foodwaste collection for composting.
Having secured an exclusive contract with a specialist manufacturer of biodegradable-compostable bags, they quickly received interest and orders for Ecosac bags, sacks and carrier bags. The established Customer-base is Councils, waste management contractors, community composting organisations, organic food producers and retailers but with growing interest from other diverse groups and individuals.
In 2005, they added to their range of biodegradable and compostable products the unique Bio.Box® low-cost ventilated foodwaste kitchen caddy system.
An exciting and revolutionary development for Ecosac is a contract to market EcoZema® - a wide range of disposable culinary items (knives, forks, spoons, plates, cups, etc.) all made from natural cellulose and cornstarch and, like Ecosacs, fully biodegradable and compostable.
